About the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity

Chuck Jones’ impressive oeuvre includes—beyond his preserved legacy of fine art, animation art, and film—his work as an author. An articulate man whose mind was characterized by agility, intense curiosity, humor, and a wickedly subversive streak, Jones literally devoured thousands upon thousands of books during his lifetime. His favorite author was Mark Twain.

Jones’ published work in book form includes:

  • Chuck Amuck: The Life and Times of an Animated Cartoonist
  • Chuck Jones’ Peter and the Wolf, by George Daugherty, illustrated by Chuck Jones
  • Chuck Reducks: Drawing from the Fun Side of Life
  • Daffy Duck for President
  • Kipling’s Mowgli’s Brothers, illustrated by Chuck Jones
  • Kipling’s Rikki Tikki Tavi, illustrated by Chuck Jones
  • Kipling’s The White Seal, illustrated by Chuck Jones
  • Serious Business: The Art and Commerce of Animation in America from Betty Boop to Toy Story, by Stefan Kanfer, foreword by Chuck Jones
  • Stroke of Genius: A Collection of Paintings and Musings on Life, Love, and Art (published posthumously) William the Backwards Skunk
